An informative and entertaining tasting marked the third Systemair wine experience event held at Caroline’s Fine Wine Cellar in Strand Street, Cape Town where the range of wines from Rust enVreder were offered by the proprietor, Jean Engelbrecht.
Jean presented the wines with knowledgeable gusto and wit as his guests were spoiled with chilled glasses of R&V’s uniquely grown and nurtured, Guardian Peak Sauvignon Blanc 2008, which was neatly coupled with an entrée of light ostrich carpaccio blinis and Rosa tomato tartlets. When getting to the formalities of the evening, guests indulged in numerous gems from the award winning Stellenbosch vineyards, but most notably, in the R&V Estate Blend and the highly acclaimed Ernie Els Bordeaux blend.

Marc Wasfung Catering’s first-class offering of flaky pastry lamb pie with gentle mash potato and radiant summer salad was followed by a local cheese board, arranged on a wine barrel head inundated with fresh Cape fruit. Each guest departed with a lovely bottle of Guardian Peak wine and a belly full of decadence.
Systemair highly recommends popping down to Caroline’s Fine Wine Cellar for some great specials and even better wines.
