In 2009, the time has come to rebuild at ground zero in the form of the 541meter Freedom Tower in memorial of the greatest event of the twenty first century.
This meant great opportunities for Daikin after being awarded the contract for the proposed five tower complex until completion of the project in 2012. Daikin will customize its offering according to the specific demands of supplying air conditioning systems with the characteristics of being an HFC-410A refrigerant with no ozone depletion potential, and having low sound levels.
The air-conditioning system includes self-contained floor located configurations with inverter-controlled fan so as to purge the need for large equipment rooms and chilled water piping systems by offering individual operation per floor.
Despite these achievements, The Star reported on 17 April 2009 that due to the "property market conditions" it is predicted that "the final tower may not be built until 2030". ◊
